as a child i grew up in an isolated farmstead; i only knew the fireplace, the flickering light of the candles in the dark and the oil lamp. i didn’t now the electric light until i discovered a neon publicity sign that defeated the deep darkness of the night…the fascination of that bright light followed me for the rest of my life.
